Intrinsic Change, LLC was incorporated by Jesse Jonesberg (Berg) in April of 2015. The mission of IC is to support individuals and organizations reach their aspirations based on effective compassion-based approaches. Intrinsic Change offers therapy, trainings, and consultation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA.

About Jesse

Jesse Jonesberg is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a focus on compassion, holistic mental health, and equity. He has over a decade of experience serving folks in community mental health settings through a variety of roles. During his career as a social worker, Jesse has served as a community support specialist, intake specialist, supervisor, manager, academic advisor and professor, trainer, and even executive director of a small non-profit. Jesse has been trained in a variety of helping and therapy approaches including Motivational Interviewing, Mindful Self-Compassion, Brainspotting, Compassion Focused Therapy, and Acceptance Commitment Therapy. He is the founder, primary trainer, therapist, and consultant at Intrinsic Change in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Motivational Interviewing Experience

Jesse has been an active member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) since 2015, and he has served on the Inclusion Diversity Advisory Committee (IDAC) of MINT for more than 5 years. During his time serving MINT, Jesse has presented and offered trainings during the annual MINT Forums on topics such as: Mindfulness and MI, Cultural Humility and MI, and Belonging and Inclusion in MI Trainings. Jesse now offers MI trainings directly through his company Intrinsic Change, and he also offers many trainings in collaboration with his mentor Shawn Smith at Share Collaborative Training in Milwaukee, WI.

Mindful Self Compassion Experience

Jesse is actively engaged in the Mindful Self Compassion (MSC) community. He began learning MSC during a 4 day training with Kristin Neff and Chris Germer in 2021. In 2022 he completed the 10 week Live Online Mindful Self Compassion Training (LOMSC) under the guidance of Rose Mina Munjee. Jesse is has completed the 9 month intensive MSC training Self Compassion in Psychotherapy Certification Program (SCIP), and he is a certified in the use of MSC in psychotherapy.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Experience

Jesse completed the 100 hour Certified Diversity FaciliTrainer Training at NCCJ STL 2012 in St. Louis, MO. Since that time he has facilitated diversity and equity dialogues and designed and facilitated trainings in diversity and cultural humility in St. Louis, MO and Milwaukee, WI. Jesse has also served on several organizational boards and committees to support systemic and organizational changes to foster inclusion, belonging, and equity.

Brainspotting Experience

Jesse is a Certified Brainspotting Practitioner under the guidance of Cherie Lindberg and Patrice Flanagan-Morris. He is currently enrolled in the 9 month intensive Consultant in Training program, and he hopes to serve as a Brainspotting Consultant after graduating.
